Fimbel Architectural Door Specialties manufactures residential and commercial garage doors. Its catalogue combines period-inspired designs with materials including vinyl-coated steel and vinyl and wood composite constructions. At MassGarage, we install, repair and service Fimbel products throughout Massachusetts. When a door is part of a carefully designed facade, we discuss both its mechanical condition and the details that need to match.
The residential catalogue names American Legends, Euro-Dor, Roaring Twenties, Presidential and Custom Designs. Those collection names are useful starting information when you have original paperwork. A photograph of the complete door can show the overall layout, but matching a section also requires checking dimensions and construction.
The American Legends recessed-panel sheet describes stiles and rails cut from solid vinyl sheet, with long or short panel designs. It lists square-cut windows and C-grille or V-grille choices, plus different overlay edge treatments. Details such as those should be recorded before requesting a change to an existing door. A general description such as “white carriage door” leaves out much of what defines the appearance.
For installation planning, send a straight-on photograph of the opening and a wider view of the property. Tell us whether the aim is to retain a period-style pattern, change window placement or select a different surface appearance. We can review the available configuration without promising that a current product duplicates an older door exactly.
Fimbel's commercial catalogue includes Euro-Dor, Presidential, Roaring Twenties and ISO-Dor Insulated Steel. A commercial property may need architectural consistency as well as dependable access, so include the building use and the way people or vehicles move through the opening. Our commercial service discussion can cover an existing sectional door or a proposed replacement.
Describe any impact damage, rubbing, rattling or gaps around the perimeter. We assess rollers, hinges, tracks, balance and seals as service topics; a decorative face does not tell us whether the mechanism is in good condition. Where one section is damaged, we review the model and available matching information before recommending the scope of work.
Keep drawings, an original invoice or a collection brochure if available. Photograph any readable identification label and the interior face from a safe place. We have not verified a universal label location for this brand and do not advise removing trim to search for one. Add the opening width and height and your Massachusetts town.
If the motor or controls are involved, photograph the separate opener nameplate as well; the door manufacturer does not identify the installed opener. Visit door repair for service information, browse openers, or contact MassGarage at (781) 602-0737 to arrange an estimate.
