Genie offers all four drive styles for homes. Its current lineup lists belt drives (SilentMax, StealthDrive and QuietLift), chain drives (ChainMax 1000 and the Chain Drive 750, 550 and 500), screw drives (MachForce and MachForce Connect) and a 24-volt DC wall mount that does away with the ceiling rail. The drive type is visible from below: a flat belt, a chain, or a long threaded rod in a C-shaped channel (screw drive). Genie's rails come in C-channel and tube styles, which matters when ordering parts. Some Genie problems do not need a new opener:
Replacement is the better path when the motor or gearbox is worn on an older unit, or when the door's weight or height exceeds what the model is rated for. A door that feels heavy by hand needs its springs checked before anyone blames the opener (broken spring repair).
We service and install all opener types and brands; most common are LiftMaster, Chamberlain and Genie. Not an authorized dealer for any brand. Licensed and insured, and we service and install all brands. Proof of insurance, license and 1099 available on request.
Call (781) 602-0737 and tell us the drive type and your door height.
