Norfolk County

Norfolk, the town rather than the county, is almost entirely single-family. Ninety-one percent of its housing units are detached homes and 95% of occupied homes are owner-occupied (ACS B25024). The housing is also newer than average: the median year built is 1984, 24% of units date from 2000 or later and only 8% predate 1940 (ACS B25034).
On larger lots with newer colonials, two- and three-car attached garages are common, and many homes have more than one door and more than one opener. That doubles the routine wear: two sets of springs, two sets of rollers, two openers aging at the same rate. Owners often replace both openers at once with matching smart openers so one app and one keypad run both doors. A wide, heavy double door puts real load on its torsion springs. When one breaks, we check the second spring and the cables before the door is used again.
The town's online permit applications page/index.php), covering building, electric, plumbing, gas and sheet metal permits, gives practical instructions. Applicants must use the browser the town names and should finish the whole process before clicking Save, which closes the application. Incomplete applications are sent back by email. The state's home-improvement chart lists door replacement as a "maybe" for a permit and new door installation as a "yes" (mass.gov).
The MHC inventory lists three National Register entries in Norfolk: the Wrentham State School (1994), the Sullivan's Corner Historic District (2012) and the Rockwood Road Historic District (2017). It shows no local historic district in town.
Some larger lots have a detached garage or barn away from the house. A smart opener that reports whether the door is open, and a wired keypad, make those buildings easier to manage.
We're licensed and insured, and we service all brands. New doors from Clopay, Garaga, Wayne Dalton and Amarr; openers including LiftMaster, Chamberlain and Genie.
